After having my kids and facing a series of major upheavals, I didn’t recognize myself. I was doing enough to get by, but not much to heal. I was burnt out, grieving, and disconnected, all while performing “normalcy.”
I needed to find my way back to myself. I couldn’t be the person I wanted to be if I didn’t know who I was. The problem? I didn’t know where to begin.
So, I started going for walks and journaling my thoughts. I saw familiar qualities.
Resilience: I watched the way the beach grass holds an entire ecosystem together through sheer strength, and I felt lighter.
Patience: I saw how the acorn waits out the winter before sprouting, and I felt less pressure.
Control: I looked at the crosswalk button that gives the illusion of control, and I felt strangely empowered.
Connecting what I experienced internally to the world around me made me feel less alone. It helped me release the shame and judgment I was carrying. I didn’t need to be anything different; I just needed to notice.
In a demanding world, it’s so hard to find the time to invest in ourselves, and once we finally do, it’s hard to know where to start.
I’m not good at meditating—my mind runs away from me—but this scavenger hunt turns connecting with yourself into an approachable “game” and acts as a structured invitation.
Pick a card, go for a walk, find the item, reflect.
It’s not perfect, it’s not revolutionary, but it’s honest. I wrote every question as a real person who has faced heartbreak, disappointment, and loss.
Being human is inherently brave. Knowing who you are without judgment, pressure, and shame is the bravest thing you can do.
If you are looking for a different way to reconnect with yourself, feel free to find your hunt in our shop.
To everyone who reads this: you are brave, you are whole, and your experience here matters.
